I have on the 89 show Dr F listed in his rather brilliant post yesterday (10/19). I was at this one, but haven't had it on since. The first set is rather flat, though a 1st set Cumberland always gets a high mark in my book. The 2nd set is decent. It's fun listening to Brent feverishly and heroically try and save a dreadful Help > Slip > Frank. I skipped the Estimated > Eyes because if I don't start skipping these I will listen to over 300 this year. The Wheel out of space is ok, but the Mr Fantasy > Death Don't is a lot of fun. Definitely the highlight of the show for me. Lovelight is annoying. Baby Blue is a good encore.

Check out the Fantasy > Death Don't - short but fun.

I just got done with 6-25-66 and I was interested enough I listened to the whole thing, I had never heard a "on the road again" from this era..COOL!! I didn't know this tune was played that early. This show also has a few versions of songs that were in a period of transition, the "Rider" contains both the "hollow log" and the "sun gonna shine verses back to back, also has a version of "cold rain and snow" that is a transition from "met her fatal doom"(which is how it is sung on most of the old bluegrass versions I have) to the verse we most often hear "where she sang a fateful tune", in this one he sings "sang a fatal tune".(I guess he didn't want to be too drastic in the transition?LOL)also notable for the "hey little one" which I had never heard. I thought it was odd to hear Jerry doing a love type song. Then the big bang....Schoolgirl>You Don't Love Me>Schoolgirl OUTRAGEOUS, You don't love me has always been one of my favorite songs and I can't believe I hadn't at least heard of this one before!! And to top it off, it's the meat in a SCHOOLGIRL SANDWICH!!!! Every schoolboys fantasy!!! The transition back into Schoolgirl has that coming too after an overdose feeling......whoa....what just happened...weren't they just....the drummers are throwing crazy timing wrenches in the gears and the rest of the band never misses a beat. If you dig 66' this is a must hear!!!!
